Mobile apps for small businesses and startups, built to launch and explained every step of the way.

I design and build iOS and Android apps for small businesses and startups. Years of teaching programming taught me to communicate clearly, so you always know what's happening, why, and what comes next.

Immortals Pte Ltd · Singapore

The Gym Pod

React Native Front End Developer · Full-time · Apr 2020–present

A 24/7 automated gym app with Stripe and Shopee Pay payments.

The Gym Pod is the production app I have owned for Immortals Pte Ltd since April 2020. I built it from scratch, shipped it to the App Store and Google Play, and I still maintain it for real users on iOS and Android. The LFG Pod was built in the same role.

It is a React Native app with a reusable, scalable component architecture, so the interface can grow without a rewrite. Stripe, Shopee Pay, Google APIs, and the internal backend are integrated into that structure.

I work with the backend engineers and the UI/UX designers, and I manage version control so each release onto the App Store and Play Store stays clean. Unit tests are part of that discipline.

Keeping it stable is the long-term work. Sentry and Firebase Crashlytics monitor crashes, and debugging plus performance profiling is how I track problems down and make the app more reliable. That maintenance has run from April 2020 to now.

PT Wahana Ottomitra Multiartha Tbk

KAWAN by WOM Finance

Front End Engineer Specialist

A fintech app built to OJK regulatory standards, with fingerprint login.

KAWAN is WOM Finance's official customer financing app. PT Wahana Ottomitra Multiartha Tbk is a lender licensed and supervised by OJK, and the app launched in February 2022 so people can use those services without visiting a branch. I built the app and I maintained it.

It covers multipurpose loans secured by a motorbike's or car's ownership papers (BPKB), through the Motorku and MobilKu products, and financing for a new motorbike. A customer can find the nearest branch, run a financing simulator, apply, pay installments, track an application, open a contract profile (Profil Kontrak), and see benefit points and promos.

I owned the React Native app, including the flows that have to meet OJK rules. I added fingerprint login and redesigned key screens.

Stability is the maintenance. I fixed critical bugs in the production app so a failure does not stay in front of a customer.

PT Movus Technologies

movus

Senior Front End Engineer

A vehicle-financing app with Xendit payments and Firebase.

movus is a vehicle-financing app, and it is also a rent-to-own subscription for ride-hailing drivers on Grab and Gojek in Indonesia. I owned the mobile development.

A driver who cannot get a normal car loan subscribes to an eco-friendly car, pays monthly, and owns it after about five years. Insurance, servicing, and tax renewal are included, and daily or weekly rental is offered as well.

Getting a car is four easy steps: upload a KTP and supporting documents, pass the document check, book a survey, and choose a car. Handover comes after that. I built that flow in React Native, with Xendit for payments and Firebase behind the app.

I took the app from the spec through to the store release, and I maintained the Android deployments after launch. Those ongoing releases are how the app stays stable for drivers.

PT Amber Media Sosial · Tangerang, Indonesia

Daily Act

Frontend Developer · Apr 2019–Jul 2020

A social habit-tracking app.

Daily Act is the social habit-tracking app I built for PT Amber Media Sosial in Tangerang, from April 2019 to July 2020. I owned the interface: the UI/UX team's high-fidelity mockups became the screens people used.

I built it in React Native. The work was pixel-perfect interfaces, custom animations, and interactive components, with Redux managing the app's state.

The backend was part of the same job. I integrated the APIs and kept the data handling smooth, inside structured development cycles that cut down merge conflicts and sped up delivery.

Once the builds were in production, I supported debugging and issue resolution so problems did not stay in the app. That maintenance ran through July 2020.

Because I've taught programming for years, I explain things in plain language, with no tech jargon, at every step.

Jonathan Suhangita

Hi, I'm Jonathan

I'm a React Native developer based in Tangerang, and I've spent the last 6 years building mobile apps that real businesses use every day, including a 24/7 gym app for a Singapore company and a fintech app for WOM Finance that's regulated by OJK. I've integrated payments with Stripe, Xendit, and Shopee Pay, set up biometric login, and taken apps all the way to the App Store and Google Play.

Before freelancing, I taught programming. I mentored students at Swiss German University, led a game-programming workshop at Tzu Chi School PIK, and still mentor on Dealls. Teaching taught me to explain technical things in plain language, so you'll always know what's being built and why.

I studied Informatics at Universitas Pelita Harapan. Outside of code, you'll find me playing tennis or trying a new café.

What I work with

React Native · React · Next.js · Node.js · Firebase · Stripe · Xendit · Shopee Pay
